Interaction Design, Coding and Content Strategy

This course has three objectives: 1) Teach the technical coding skills (HTML, CSS, and Javascript) required to create contemporary websites for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. 2) Make students better design thinkers by challenging them to articulate strategic thinking in the form of wireframes, sitemaps, content and social media strategies, client presentations, and writing assignments. 3) Convey best design practices for the web and knowledge about how the Internet works in general. Underlying this course is the belief that designers who are able to think clearly and strategically about design as well as execute complex technical coding projects will be better equipped to succeed in our evolving digital landscape.
